The exhibition shows the turning point during the break-up of Austrian-Hungarian Monarchy and the first steps towards an independent Slovenian statehood. Short period of operation of the State of SHS lasted only 33 days: from the emergence of a new state to its unification with a geographically, nationally and politically completely different Kingdom of Serbia.
The National Museum of Slovenia, the Museum of Contemporary History of Slovenia and the Archives of the Republic of Slovenia with the exhibition mark the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War, the disintegration of the Austro-Hungarian state framework and the foundation of the State of Slovenes, Croats and Serbs. The occasional exhibition represents the material and spiritual heritage of the first modern Slovenian state entity.
