In recent years, Israeli Rinnat Moriah, with her convincing lyrical and coloratura soprano and a repertoire extending through all of the stylistic periods, has become a resounding name in the most renowned opera and concert venues, such as Milan’s La Scala, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, and the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, as well as at festivals in Salzburg, Baden-Baden, Lucerne and Aix-en-Provence.

After her thrilling collaborations last year, she is again our guest in the present season, this time with the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir, brought together in a performance of Ludwig van Beethoven’s magnificent but rarely performed Christus Am Ölberge (Christ on the Mount of Olives). Soprano Rinnat Moriah will be joined on stage by Austrian tenor Roman Payer, who in recent years has been a member of the ensemble of the theatre in Augsburg and the Coburg Sate Theatre. He regularly performs concert repertoire, including works by Haydn, Mozart, Bruckner and Mendelssohn. On European opera stages, he has appeared in the roles of Florestan (Fidelio), Tamino (The Magic Flute), Belmonte (The Abduction from the Seraglio), Lensky (Eugene Onegin), Parsifal (Parsifal), and others.

In the first part of the concert, the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra’s longstanding concertmaster, Miran Kolbl, will appear as a soloist. On this occasion, the penetrating, full and agile tone of his violin will sing in Beethoven’s exceptionally lyrical Romance for Violin and Orchestra in F major in rondo form. The concert programme opens with Joseph Haydn’s Symphony No. 49, “La passione”. The musicians will be led by the renowned Hungarian conductor György Győriványi Ráth.
