The characteristic low horizons of renowned Soviet artist and rebel Georgy Nissky are now enjoying a resurgence in popularity, owed in part to a new comprehensive exhibition at IRRA comprising donations from over 50 museums, private collections and archives. From the railways of his early works to the marine subjects, seascapes and snowy landscapes depicted later in his career, the display demonstrates the thematic evolution of his catalog. Artists from whom Nissky derived inspiration and those he in turn inspired also feature prominently in the composition.
