XX century Neo-classical ballet Eglė the Queen of the Grass Snakes, a classic of Lithuanian music, is one of the most popular pieces of this genre.
Writing Eglė the Queen of the Grass Snakes, composer E. Balsys relied on the poem of Salomėja Nėris. The composer highlighted the mythological origins of the fairy tale, intensively developing the drama of human feelings of Eglė and Žilvinas.

The team of young generation creators - choreographer Martynas Rimeikis, conductor Modestas Barkauskas and stage designer Marijus Jacovskis is trying to read the work in a new and attractive way and to present it to the audience. M. Rimeikis is already the winner of two Golden Stage Crosses. Conductor Modestas Barkauskas, 2017 Winner of the third prize at the prestigious G. Fitelberg conductor competition in Poland, is currently the artistic director of St. Christopher Chamber Orchestra.
The creative team's idea in space will be realized by the stage designer Marijus Jacovskis, whose hand-touched music and drama productions receive recognition both in Lithuania and abroad.
