Originally conceived in the 1930s, the Botanical Garden's building work didn’t begin on what’s today a 64 hectare site until after WWII and continues up until today. Featuring individual areas such as a Japanese garden, rock garden, arboretum, examples of Polish flora, park plants, plant biology, decorative plants and medicinal industrial plants and an open air museum featuring a rural farmstead and a cottage from the early 20th century. The Botanical Gardens also offer gardening advice, do guided tours for groups of school children and put on botanical shows throughout the year.
