Sophia

Some moments in history are truly timeless, while others are so timeless that they beget the naming of 5-star restaurants. One such case is Sophia at the Kempinski Palace, which takes its name from the incomparable Sophia Loren, who stayed here during the 1950s and was captured on film one evening in a moment that perfectly represented la Dolce Vita. Housed in the former grand reception area at the old Palace hotel, the stone pillars, vintage chandeliers and large fireplace are all restored originals. The cuisine is a blend of Mediterranean and Italian flavours from the kitchen of head chef Marjo Povšnar, created with local ingredients and complimented by a expectedly fine wine selection.
