The Karst itself is a unique topological phenomenon resulting from the dissolution of limestone and other rocks, and now has its own professionally collated exhibition here at the Notranjski museum. Visitors can explore all aspects of the landscape, from its creation in prehistoric seas, to modern day life on the rough terrain. A large part of the exhibition is dedicated to the region’s spectacular caves and their fascinating history, including neolithic items from a neanderthal family, found in the nearby Betalov Spodmol cave. There's also treasure to be discovered, namely gold and silver artifacts from Predjama Castle. You might even catch an educational workshop if you come on the right day.
