Nearly every year local art lovers are spoiled with an incredible exhibition of world-class paintings that’s at least partially sponsored by the Boris and Inara Teterev Foundation and 2017 is no exception. 12 Characters. Prado Collection will bring timeless portrait paintings from Madrid's renowned Museo Nacional del Prado including works by Paolo Veronese (1528-1588), Anthony van Dyck (1599-1641), Peter Paul Rubens (1577-1640), Bartolomé Esteban Murillo (1617-1682), Francisco de Goya (1746-1828) and more legendary names that have echoed across the centuries. The exhibition, which is on display until July 16 at the Riga Bourse Art Museum, is part of the upcoming Latvian centenary celebrations and its patroness is former Latvian president Vaira Vīķe-Freberga who is also the esteemed president of the so-called Madrid Club (World Leadership Alliance).
