Worth the visit: Russell Kaplan's new showroom

Visiting Russell Kaplan's new showroom was a delightful experience, with swoon-worthy items filling up every available space. Yet what stands out immediately is that these have so much more breathing room than Russell Kaplan's old showroom, allowing you to truly appreciate what's on offer. Everywhere you look, the team has created colourful tableaus with meticulous care and flair to show everything off to brilliant effect. This not only gives you a sense of the incredible variety on auction, but also the myriad styling possibilities and aesthetic choices that await you.
It's wonderful to see themed spaces in the new showroom. Upstairs, a decidedly more sparse, dedicated gallery area lets the artworks on auction take centre stage. It is bright and light-filled, and a lovely contrast to the more densely packed downstairs area where you will find many larger items of furniture, including wooden cabinets and couches. Back upstairs, there's a dreamy bookshelf set in what looks like the perfect reading nook, while many of the smaller collectables – from Wedgwood ceramics to Murano glassware – line custom-built shelves. Here too, you'll find the selection of clothing, designer handbags, jewellery, and watches on offer.

We highly recommend heading through to get a feel for the scale and size of the items on sale. On our visit ahead of the launch event (Jul 15, 2025), we spent almost two hours exploring and still left feeling like there were many stones unturned. We recommend popping in when you have plenty of time. Beware: If you're someone unused to buying on auction, this brilliant space might just convert you.
You can view the items going under the hammer at Russell Kaplan's new showroom at 256 Oak Avenue, Corner Republic Road, Ferndale, Randburg.

Online pre-bids and live online bids are treated equally, so rest assured if nobody bids over your pre-bid during the live session, the lot is yours. After submitting a successful bid, you'll receive your auction invoice by email so you can arrange payments and collection.
