Beaumaris Castle

Castle Street Beaumaris      +44 1248 810361     more than a year ago
Get those cameras ready, you’re in for a treat. Beaumaris Castle doesn’t quite get as much attention as Conwy or Caernarfon but that’s not for a want of trying, as this magnificently constructed castle is arguably the most marvellous of them all. The last of the Edwardian castles in the area, Beaumaris is about as picture-perfect as it gets. Historian Arnold Taylor called it the ‘most perfect example of symmetrical concentric planning’ and we aren’t about to disagree. Beaumaris lies on the island of Anglesey, and is best approached by car or via bus routes 53/57/58 from Bangor.
