Great Orme Bronze Age Mines

Pyllau Road, Llandudno      +44 1492 870447     more than a year ago
The largest prehistoric mine ever discovered, in short. The mines were almost lost to the world before being found in the 1980s, stopping the building of a car park no less, and no form one of the most fascinating attractions in the region. These mines are from 4000 years ago and consist of over five miles of tunnels, incredible when you take into account the primitive tools used in those days, although we don’t know if ‘those days’ is the right sort of term for the Bronze Age. The mines are open from March to October and are well worth a look, no matter your knowledge and interest in copper.
