One of the most famous art collector families of the pre-revolutionary times, the Stroganov family, is especially known for Count Alexander Sergeevich Stroganov, President of the Academy of Arts. Another noteworthy collector from the same family, was Count Pavel Sergeevich Stroganov whose fine taste in art is reflected in his collection of paintings and sculptures that will be showcased at the Hermitage from the last week of June. The exhibition includes nearly 80 pictures from European and Russian painters, and over 40 sculptures and decorative art, Chinese ceramics, and a unique collection on books.
