A classic in the Russian theatrical repertoire, the Nutcracker, is a play that will never bore the viewer and can always surprise with the multitude of versions that each theater has to offer. The St. Petersburg DK Lensoveta will follow the choreography of Vasily Vainonen created in 1934 and premiered at the Mariinsky Theatre. It will be accompanied by the St. Petersburg State Academic Symphony Orchestra. Although originally envisioned as a children fairy tale, the Nutcracker is permeated with philosophical thoughts about the unattainability of the ideal of happiness, a theme that will never cease being relevant.
