The latest trend to hit St. Petersburg's restaurant scene - and is probably here to stay - are “secret” restaurants which not just about anyone can access. Kvartira Kosti Kreutza (or simply Kreuz Flat) is a restaurant and tea room situated inside THE most expensive St. Petersburg apartment and access to which is only possible with a virtual key that you can apply for online. "Travel food" is the name of the game at Kreuz Flat, where the menu consists of some of the owner's favorite dishes from his travels around the world. The tea room is styled as a Buddhist datsan temple and tea is treated as deity rather than a drink. Drinks served at the bar are made of all natural ingredients (no sugar or chemicals whatsoever) and pretty much everything is on offer: wine, signature cocktails, liqueurs and and homemade fermented drinks. Essentially, this is where all of St. Petersburg's bohemian folks now hang out.
