St. Petersburg Card
Saint Petersburg
Dear Linn, thank you very much for sharing your feedback. Every personal opinion is very important to us. A City Card is indeed a service which requires careful planning of the itinerary and an active approach to sightseeing in order to save money. But I have to explain why some of the attractions, namely boat cruises, could not let you on board - as we already informed you in our correspondence. On 28-30 July, celebrations of the Navy Day were held in Saint Petersburg, which is why for security reasons these cruises were fully or partially cancelled. This information was published on our website and in the social media, and unfortunately we cannot prevent such force majeure cancellations - boat cruise companies always reserve the right for making changes in the schedule, for all tickets, not just a City Card. Our guidebook and respective pages on the website have all the contact info and we always recommend to check availability of tours directly, prior to visiting. Our service does not generally provide a skip-the-queue advantage, except for special ticket offices at several attractions, as openly stated on our website as well. Savings for an active traveller and convenience of cashless payment - this is the main point in purchasing the card, for those who consider it useful. We are sorry that your experience with the City Card was not satisfying. And again - thank you for your valuable comments that will be taken into account in order to work on further improvement, together with our partner companies in Saint Petersburg.

We bought the 3-day card online and had it sent to our hotel which worked perfectly fine. However, some places refused to except the card without explaining why, even after we tried to show them that they were in the book they just told us to leave and waved us away. Other places had signs up that showed that the card would be excepted which was really good, however, most of the people selling the tickets etc. did not speak english or any other language except for Russian, and/or were extremely rude. On the hop on-hop off busses, it did however work very well and the drivers were friendly. Another issue is that although we got our ticket "for free", we still had to stand in line with all the other ticket-buyers so we did not gain any time. A separate line for card holders seems reasonable.. It is also important to point out that it is difficult to actually save money with this card. Although you have a book with 60 different experiences, you will obviously not have time for them all. If you which to stress around and just check all places of your list, maybe, but not if you wanna go in a normal pace and enjoy it all. I would not recommend the card as I do not see any benefits, you might as well pay at the specific attractions instead, like I pointed out, you have to stand in the ticket line anyway. I did read positive reviews of the cards before buying it which is why we chose it, but I do not agree with those reviews at all. However, this is me and my friends personal experience and personal opinions.
