The Russian Ethnographic Museum presents “The Arctic – an Inhabited Land”, an exhibition that shows the cultural heritage of the indigenous people of the Arctic with the help of more than 500 different ethnographic objects. Discover what a real Pomorsky karbas, step inside the dwelling of a Selkupsky shaman or find out what a Chukchi narta is. Analyzing authentic archeological, historical and ethnographic artifacts that characterize northern cultures allows visitors to get a clearer image of the different as well as unifying elements of the different Arctic peoples that together form a single idea of the “Arctic home”.
