Up in the far top-left corner of the country, Šventoji can be reached fairly easily by car, bus and even plane. Buses run to the town from several destinations including Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda and nearby Palanga, arriving at a small open square just east of the centre which is called the Bus Station (autobusų stotis) but that has no facilities. The centre is a two-minute walk to the right when looking away from the station. Šventoji is just west of the main A13 (E272) coast road between Klaipėda and Latvia. If driving the 46km road from Klaipėda and the south, be warned that signposts are few and far between. Follow the signs for Liepaja/Liepāja before you see the Šventoji sign then take the road to your left which goes to the centre of town. It’s possible to catch a bus to Šventoji from opposite the airport at Palanga. If there are no quick connections, a taxi will cost anything from €5-12 depending on the driver. Negotiate before you set off.
