Tatarčevi Memorial House

  29 Novembri bb      +389 75 30 98 83     more than a year ago
The controversial Resen-born army officer and doctor Hristo Tatarčev (1869-1952) was also a leading figure in the pre-war Internal Macedonian Revolutionary Organisation, and his former home in the centre of town has been turned into a museum featuring many personal items relating to the man and his work. Depending on who you choose to believe, the famed fighter for Macedonian independence was either Bulgarian or Macedonian, an argument that rages in some circles and that Tatarčev, a believer in equality for all, would have no doubt disapproved. Don’t be frightened by the bizarre waxwork dummies in historical clothing upstairs. It’s all part of the show.
