Warsaw

Warmut

ul. Marszałkowska 45/49 ,   City Centre         more than a year ago
Who loves Vermouth (Wermut)? Warsaw loves Wermut, hence this trendy cocktail bar that pays homage to the alcoholic botanical beverage found in many a classic cocktail, including martini, the Manhattan, the Rob Roy, and the Negroni. Found between Plac Zbawiciela and Plac Konstytucji, the bar is set in a socialist-realist building which made up the main thoroughfare of Communist-era Warsaw. Things have moved on since then and now this area is gradually being populated by ever cooler bars. Head in and look up to see a unique Warsaw skyline...albeit, upside down. Along with cool drinks you'll be pleased to eat some quirky comfort food, like lamb sausages in hot sauce, celery steaks with green peppers and gorgonzola sauce, and avocado calamari in panko breadcrumbs. For those with a keen eye for street art, make sure to glance at the interior works and definitely check out their events calendar via Facebook. Some events building up to the weekend include 'Thursday Mixes', mixing music and drinks, and Friday's 'Śródmieście Afternoons' (16:00-19:00), all about the aperitivo's - you pay for a drink and get a plate with snacks included. A nice start to the weekend. For fans of retro games, a whole new level of fun awaits you - literally, on the first floor in GRAM. Enjoy.
