This year’s Przemiany (Transformations) Festival is an emergency food crisis conference. The festival will present products, prototypes, and processes implementing the results of the latest research and new technologies altering the agri-food industry. One of the events will be the exhibition "Lulled by a Satiety" dealing with the issues of food production and its subsequent waste, the search for alternative sources of protein in light of the climate change. The trends, data, inventions, and innovations will be juxtaposed with social changes taking place under their influence. The statistical effectiveness of protests and boycotts will be analysed together with lobbying conducted by the largest activist organisations. The complex psychological and social mechanisms behind human eating habits will be discussed, as well as the issue of pseudo-scientific food myths combined with a lack of trust in science and overall indifference to problems related to food and nutrition. The panel of experts will discuss the issue of meals as a communal event, and the reason for its rapid disappearance in today's world. Human uncontrollable appetite for food led us into the dead end. There is not enough food to feed everyone. It is time to wake up from apathy. Despite the seriousness of the topic, the festival simultaneously offers a lighthearted approach. In additionto lectures, workshops, panels, and discussions, there will be concerts, film showings, casual conversations while sipping espresso, and an occasion to exchange ideas at the networking area.
