Jacek Malczewski, one of the most revered painters of the Young Poland period, and Juliusz Słowacki, one of the "Three Bards" of Polish Romantic literature. Jacek Malczewski had a strong sense of patriotism and national messianism expressed most fully in Polish literature of the Romantic period. The young painter was influenced by Juliusz Słowacki's poetry, which is reflected in a series of paintings on patriotism and martyrdom which was born under inspiration of Juliusz Słowacki's poem Anhelli. The exhibition is an opportunity to view previously not exhibited works by young Jacek Malczewski. Displayed are also unknown to the public Juliusz Słowacki's drawings.
