I want that! What's on our shopping wishlist this month...

Who doesn't love browsing? We love local, and from fashion, to decor, gifts, and accessories there's always something creative to catch one's eye. Here are some beautiful things that we spotted this month...

HANDMADE IN AFRICA: These wire birds at Motmot in Parkhurst

Motmot is a gift store in Parkhurst that shares a blooming space with the plant store Garden Bleau. One of the things that makes shopping here particularly satisfying is that they showcase products made by local crafters and designers working in beads, wire, glassware, weaving, textiles and ceramics. We particularly love these whimsical wire birds in flight that add some extra colour and fun to a suburban garden. Find them at cnr 1th St and 4th Ave, Parkhurst.

STYLE FILE: This fur hat in chocolate cow print design from ME&B

When you're building your winter wardrobe, a fun way to look fabulous and keep warm is with a faux fur bucket hat. We love this chocolate cow print design bucket hat made by mother-daughter design duo ME&B. A cosy winter staple that's both chic and warm, it's also ideal for those windy winter days and easy to style up or down to be casual or formal. Find them on sale at ME&B boutique in 44 Stanley or shop them online here.

GREAT GIFTS: These oversized bouquets from The Gorgeous Shop

Possibly the most beautiful store on Parkhurst's 4th Avenue (apar from Beck & Ernst, another favorite) is the aptly named florist The Gorgeous Shop, specialising in spectacularly lavish flower arrangements. Whether you want to say "Congratulations" or "I'm sorry", flowers are a great way to get the message across. If you really need to make a big statement, you will be hard pressed to find more luxurious flowers than these immense oversized bouquets. Find them at Sunlit Court, 34 4th Ave, Parkhurst

VINTAGE FINDS: Antique Fair at Nelson Mandela Square

This monthly antique fair at Nelson Mandela Square turns 40 this month – and is one of the biggest of its kind with top collectors and antique dealers taking part. A brilliant place to hunt for unusual collectables and otherwise hard-to-find little treasures, the variety is fantastic and there's always a new vintage find waiting for you to take it home. The fair happens from 10:00–16:00 on the first Sunday of the month at Nelson Mandela Square. Entrance is free.
