Green Way

  ul. Kuźnicza 11-13 ,   Old Town          (+48) 71 341 90 98     more than a year ago
A canteen-style affair offering decent fare to the health-conscious diner. Bites on show include aubergine lasagne, enchiladas, vegetables in curry sauce and pasta, and it's difficult to find much fault with anything. A bit lacking in atmosphere, this is a budget hero and recognised as such by the students, eco-warriors and modern mums who gather here.

Place isn't that bad, it's not the inside looks that count but the food. Had a couple of items on the menu and wasn't disappointed. Decent meals at good prices. Better then Vega in the town's square. Had better. But worth a try.

Actually, about the rude and awful employees... this Greenway breaks the law by "trying out workers", inviting them to work WITHOUT PAY for 5 days, to see if they can get a job. If they are stupid enough to do it and then get hired, they work in worse conditions than in McDonalds. That's why vegetarians who are also involved in the labour movement invented the slogan "Green Way - No Way", a few years ago when the shit labour practices were pointed out at another restaurant. It is a franchise, so the conditions vary, but this one is BAD.

This place actually has an advertisement in this In Your Pocket guide so I was taken aback by how unwelcoming the staff was. You should suggest a new ad that says, "We Invite You... to feel like you are in France" because for a moment, I had Cannes flashbacks! I was greeted by rude and awful employees who may have a chip on their shoulders because they are basically schlepping a somewhat healthier version of McDonald's-like food. I would expect that type of terrible service had I shown up at the Ritz Carlton in a t-shirt and sandals. If you can handle cafeteria style dining, go to Multi-Food which is maybe two doors down and load up on the salads and veggies. That's what I did and I was pleasantly surprised.
