Paul Rose (1894 - 1980) was a Wrocław native, who, in addition to his professional work, devoted himself to drawing, watercolour and the artistic portraying his hometown. He immortalized Wrocław from the 1920s and 1930s, during the war and just after it ended. His drawings, especially those from the first post-war months, are invaluable documents of Wrocław's iconography. But above all, they are very personal works, almost like diary cards. Many of them contain the author's private comments about places of residence and work. Paul Rose's Wrocław features about 140 works of the artist on display at the Royal Palace, History Museum.
