[closed]Pod Gryfami

Located in a splendid 16th-century townhouse adorned with heraldic griffins, lions, eagles, and pelicans, "Under the Griffins" is a true Wrocław institution, going strong since 1993 (that's a long time in post-communist Poland). The establishment is spread over no less than three levels, with a summertime garden, a year-round glass patio featuring a cosy fireplace and carefully tuned piano, and - best of all - a veritable labyrinth of ancient, sprawling cellars decorated with all sorts of bric-a-brac and framed paintings. The food is also nothing to poke at, with good old-fashioned pork, duck, and veal dominating the menu; vegetarians can choose from pearl barley risotto, courgette pancakes, spinach filo pastry, and pierogi.
