Emergency Appeal: Earthquake in Croatia

more than a year ago

Stand in solidarity with the Croatian people and assist the country in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake which hit on 29 December 2020.

Having not yet recovered from a devastating 5.4-magnitude earthquake that struck the capital of Zagreb in March 2020, only a week ago the central part of Croatia got hit by another powerful quake, 6.4 in magnitude, leaving the towns of Petrinja,Sisak and Glina in complete ruins. Seven people were killed, dozen wounded and thousands left homeless. Images from the area show streets strewn with rubble, buildings with roofs caved in and people in despair.

Despite the horrific experience of losing their homes and infrastructure, despite low winter temperatures and the fear of further tremors, these people are not losing hope.

How can you help?
Not only do they need to rebuilt their homes, but they need to rebuilt the whole infrastructure from scratch – kindergartens, schools, hospitals..
