Tirana’s sights are quite low-key, and therefore the must-sees can nearly be counted on one finger. National History Museum
You can't miss the gargantuan mosaic on the facade - it represents the development of Albania's history with everyone from Illirians to partisans represented.

Et'hem Bey Mosque
Perhaps the only real sight in Tirana, this pretty mosque is right on the city's main square, making it hard to miss. Construction of the 'Xhamia e Haxhi Ethem Beut' mosque started in 1794 and was finished in 1821 by Et'hem Bey (who evidently got all the credit).

The title of the church is not "the Holy Evangelist", but "the Evangelism" i.e. "the Annunciation" (of the Angel to Virgin Mary). The Greek word "Evangelismos" means "Annunciation".

The figure with Mother Teresa is certainly not Pope John Paul II. He (as all popes) used to wear a white hat and dress. He is the Catholic Archbishop of Tirana-Durres Mgr. Rrok Kola Mirdita, on whose initiative St.Paul's Cathedral was built.
