Well connected to the Balkans and most major European destinations, Ljubljana Airport lies 26km northwest of the city and is as small and efficient as the rest of the country. There’s free Wi-Fi for internet addicts, a buffet-style restaurant, a couple of cafés, a bank with ATM, currency exchange office and a post office.

Getting to the airport takes about 30 minutes by taxi (€35-45) or shuttle (€5-8, timed to coincide with flights) and roughly twice as long by bus (€4.10, up to 16 per day between 05:00 and 20:00). Check the airport website for more information and schedules.

Buses between the airport and Ljubljana according to the airport website run hourly weekdays, but only every 2 hours at weekends. An alternative by public transport is to take a train to Kranj from where buses run up to 2 times per hour - although only every two hours at weekends.

We are arriving from London with bicycles and want to know if there is anywhere in the airport where we can leave the bike flight bags?
