Shopping in Vilnius is becoming much like shopping anywhere else in the world, although there are a few exceptions courtesy of the occasional market that’s hardly changed over the last 30 years. Although many locally produced goods such as alcohol and cigarettes are much cheaper than you’ll find in the West, most Western goods—clothes being the best example—are more expensive than they are at home. The Lithuanian word for shop is parduotuvė.
