The centre of Celje is compact enough to explore on foot, however, many must-see locations, including the castle and Gostilna Francl are far enough removed from the city centre that no one should be ashamed of opting for taxi (at least we're not!). The main rank is located outside and opposite the main railway station, and rates are quite reasonable - with most companies offering a flat rate deal of €2.20 for the first 3km.
