Just opposite Nieuw-West's biggest tourist attraction, the Sloten windmill, you'll find yet another crowd pleaser: De Halve Maen (The Half Moon). This historic pub wouldn't look out of place in the English countryside with its cosy furnishings, warm atmosphere and attentive and friendly staff who make sure that virtually everyone leaves here in a good mood. Although the surroundings and the building are typically Dutch, the menu is varied and includes a bit of everything. A sign at the entrance advising burglars to look elsewhere makes it clear that not everyone is welcome, but that probably doesn't apply to you.
