At the end of this long waterway, which was dug in the Amsterdam Forest in 1934 to create jobs for the unemployed, you'll find De Bosbaan, a pub and restaurant with 'the most attractive outdoor cafe in all of Amsterdam' – or so they claim. Indeed the enormous terrace is nearly perfect on sunny days, but the spacious pub is nothing to sneeze at either. It offers an extensive wine list and an even more extensive menu of fairly expensive, but tasty food. The enormous windows allow you to enjoy the gorgeous surroundings outside, even if Amsterdam's weather gods have once again decided to show their displeasure.
