HEM Hotel

Despite some superficial renovations, this hotel is a bit aged. Rooms are basic and usually clean, but the cleanliness of the bathrooms is less than average. HEM Hotel is without a doubt among the cheapest hotels in Amsterdam and its other advantages include a helpful staff, a common area with a pool table and a food corner that's open all day. The pizzas and pastas served here aren't the best, but due to the hotel's remote location inside Slotervaart’s concrete jungle, the assurance of a meal, even a a bad one, is nice to have. The separate building opposite the hotel entrance is its hostel, which we don't recommend. In fact, we can only hope that accommodation in Amsterdam doesn’t get any worse than this.
