Let’s face it. There are dog people and there are cat people. The eccentric owner of this unusual museum is most definitely the latter. Over the years a huge collection of paintings, sculpture, 100-year-old advertising posters, porcelain figurines and other objects related to cats has been displayed on four floors in this historic canal house on the Herengracht that boasts antique furniture, original parquet floors and ceiling murals. Naturally, a real cat also lives in the house and can often be seen napping or lounging in the sunlight near the windows.
