On the other side of the Gouwzee lies a peninsula with yet another traditional fishing village. A visit to Marken is well worth it and the Marken Express ferry brings you there in about 30 minutes, making it an easy daytrip. Once on board you can buy overpriced drinks and snacks or just enjoy the views from the deck. Ferries set sail every 30 - 45 minutes from Volendam’s harbour. The last departure from Volendam to Marken is at 17:30 and vice versa at 18:00.
