Pianola Museum

  Westerstraat 106 ,   Centrum          (+31) 206 27 96 24     more than a year ago
Although it's one of the world's more recent instruments, this music machine has its own museum located in the cells of an old police station in the Jordaan. At first, the pianola was an external player connected to the keyboard of a normal upright or grand piano and a wide variety of music was available in the form of perforated paper music rolls. The museum houses a collection of automatic pianos and related objects and the museum archive stores over 25,000 music rolls. Nearly all of them can be played on different instruments in the museum.
