If you’ve had enough of Michelin stars and molecular gastronomy, but still consider yourself a foodie, then head over to the Westrgasfabriek (Polonceaukade 27, www.westergasfabriek.nl) from May 12 - 16 for the so-called Weekend of the Rolling Kitchens where dozens of food trucks will be churning out delicious food from around the globe to hungry Amsterdammers. But once you’ve had your fill of gourmet pizzas and classic barbecue you can hang out for drinks, lots of live music and a generally festive atmosphere throughout the weekend. Taste of Amsterdam
Each year you can see what Amsterdam’s hottest chefs are up to by visiting the Taste of Amsterdam Festival (en.tasteofamsterdam.com) at the Amstel Park. The four-day culinary celebration held from June 2 - 5 is accompanied by live jazz and soul music and a general admission ticket will cost you €12. Additional food tokens called ‘florijnen’ can be bought at the event and these are exchanged for food at dozens of stands throughout the park. Don’t miss June’s most talked about foodie event!
