The Convent Hotel

In a city steeped in history, it comes as no surprise that many historic buildings have been transformed into hotels and the Convent is one of them. The former 13th-century monastery has been divided into 148 rooms and although some of the pleasantly decorated rooms are quite small, you can easily upgrade to larger (more expensive) accommodation. Its unbeatable central location is its biggest attraction, but lovingly preserved antique details such as stained glass windows are also a draw. Rooms have recently undergone refurbishment and the sauna is a favourite of the hotel's regulars. The staff are professional and excellent wi-fi is available, but we recommend you give the pricey breakfast a pass as dozens of cheap options are only a short stroll away.
