Euro 2016: where to watch

more than a year ago
With names like Seedorf, Bergkamp, Kluivert, Robben, Van Nistelrooy, Van Basten, Van Persie, Van der Sar and many other ‘Vans’, it's no secret that football is king in the Netherlands. It even looked as if they would be a major contender in the last World Cup, eventually having to settle for third place and a 3-0 thrashing of Brazil. Unfortunately, the team that was once famously referred to as A Clockwork Orange, due its no-holds-barred concept of total football, has recently suffered lacklustre results and didn’t even qualify for this year’s Euro 2016 tournament. Only time will tell if the Orange Men will regain their former glory on the pitch, but in the meantime you can be sure that Amsterdammers will be watching all of the matches, perhaps enviously, at their favourite pubs. Here’s a list of some of our favourite places to watch football in the Dutch capital.
