Great free walking tour in English,with young enthusiastic locals that takes you around Plovdiv's main sights. Every day at 11:00 and 18:00 (from May to September) and at 14:00 (from October to April) in front of the Municipality building on Plovdiv's main street. No reservation or tickets are required and there is no fee, though if you are satisfied with your guide you are invited to leave a gratuity to this non-profit organisation.

In Plovdiv watch out for one tout who hangs around one of the othordox churches and starts giving a really friendly spiel, pretends to not want your money and then asks for a higt price. I think his name is Tsanko and he is really pushy. Talks a good talk about how he loves the Church,his wife is Catholic, and then after an hours walk plays his card of having someone phone to pretend his wife has an electrical problem.Has three sons and is a caretaker in the local orthodox churches. Really full of it.of the friendly bullshit.A real experienced pro.
