First we need to clarify what exactly is meant by brunch! Literally it is a combination of breakfast and lunch, served between late morning and mid afternoon. Restaurants and hotels tend to serve brunch on Sundays or over the weekend as a whole.  Once upon a time brunch was synonymous with a lush 'all you can eat flat rate' buffet often accompanied by live music. Though many have tried (and failed) this format over the years, it seems the Hilton hotel family brunch, continues to keep the traditional brunch going, albeit seasonally on Sundays from 12:00-15:30. 
Meanwhile elsewhere in Sofia restaurants are using the weekend brunch as a way to introduce new elements to their menu or give kitchen staff a break during the day by offering a short and fresh menu every weekend. Here are some of our favourite places to check out.
