The Bulgarian Artists Union was founded in 1960’s. Its first chairman was the great Bulgarian artist Petko Zadgorski, after whom the City Art Gallery is named. The Artists Union gallery is in the centre of the city and has exhibitions throughout the year with local artists, sculptors and photographers and also from further afield.
