This is one of the few hotels that's located right in the heart of Punda, one of Willemstad's three districts. The Academy Hotel is since 2008 a training facility for students who'd like to learn everything about the hospitality and tourism industry. It boasts a wonderful central location and the price simply can’t be beat, but its three-star designation might be a bit of stretch. It's essentially bare bones accommodation that lacks too many amenities to be a ‘real hotel’, yet we love the cosy atmosphere anyway. The basic rooms are small and can get quite noisy, there is no hot water and the wi-fi is nearly non existent. The housekeeping staff does a god job cleaning the complex, but peeling paint and cracks in the walls can be seen nearly everywhere. A basic breakfast is included in the price of a room.
