If you haven't got your own transport and don’t want to spend loads of money on a fixed taxi ride, the cheapest option to get to downtown Willemstad is by taking a public bus to Punda and Otrabanda, which takes about 20 minutes and costs only $1. To find buses simply leave the main entrance of the airport and keep right following the outline of the main building. Tickets can be bought from the driver, but make sure you have exact change.
After customs you'll find Cafe Barista, with a wide range of burgers, pre-packaged sandwiches and the usual coffee, tea and soft drinks. Nearby is 5 Star Sports boasting four giant TV screens and walls littered with American baseball memorabilia. Cold beers and warm food and snacks are the specialities of the house. You'll also find a souvenir shop, jewellery shop and a duty free shop in this small, yet pleasant airport. At the other end is a small Grab ’n' Go counter where you can buy hot drinks and snacks.
