Landhuis Jan Kock

St. Willibrodus, Road to Westpoint, Curacao      (+599) 98 64 09 65     more than a year ago
While the first written document about the house mentions a Jan Kock, nowadays everybody calls it Jan Kok. Since 2002 this has also been the residence of local artist Nena Sanchez, who is mostly known for her colourful, giant creatures. The first house built here in 1704 was destroyed by a fire, but was rebuilt again in 1840. Spectacular views of the salt pans of Sint Marie and a flamingo pond can be seen from the terrace of this elevated house.
