Named in honour of the island's mining history, this golf course is one of our favourites, partly because no handicap is required. Legendary designer Pete Dye created the seaside links with lots of coast-hugging holes on the picturesque Santa Barbara Plantation and it was recently voted as the 21st best golf course in the Caribbean. An enormous hotel with an ocean view, a beach at its doorstep and the par 72 18-hole championship golf course will tempt any golfer to its fairways. The course features lush vegetation and the fairways are wide with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains where marble is still quarried. Luckily a buggy and rental equipment is provided, as well as lessons from a PGA prof.
