Officially known as Tbilisi Reservoir this artificial lake opened in 1953. It is the largest lake near Tbilisi, so a popular spot during the hot days of summer. The public beach is free, but unguarded, often crowded and dirty. Alternatively, for 20 Lari you can enter the Tbilisi Sea Club, which also has a couple bar. A reasonable price for a taxi ride from the centre of Tbilisi is 15 Lari.
