Metropolitan Cathedral

The Metropolitan Cathedral (Catedrala Mitropolitana) is the largest Orthodox church in Romania, and was built between 1833 and 1839, and restored between 1880 and 1888 following its partial collapse. Gheorghe Tattarescu is the well-known Romanian artist that painted the church, the stained-glass windows being made by a factory in Munich.
