Although this is a lovely baroque church in its own right, the real reason to come here is to see the masterpiece of Caravaggio’s stint as a painter in Naples. The Seven Works of Mercy, depicts seven acts of compassion and charity and provides a priceless glimpse into what the chaotic streets of 17th century Naples must have looked like.
