Forum Traiani Roman Baths Archaeological Area (Area archeologica Terme Romane di Forum Traiani)

The ruins of the baths built around a hot spring (54 °C), reveal two distinct construction phases. The large pool (natatio) and portico belong to the first and most ancient phase of construction in the 1st century AD. All other areas, developed in the 3rd century AD, are set out according to the classic roman bath layout (frigidarium, tepidarium and calidarium) and, unlike the natatio, are not directly connected to the hot water spring. The archaeological area also includes the remains of a building with frescoes dating around 200 AD.
